Regional Projects

The People’s Project have been involved with various Projects around the region.

• The Solway Coastal Path
• Criffel footpath extension to the summit
• Dalbeattie School outdoor classroom
• Eskrigg Toilet block at Lockerbie
• Regular sponsorship of Wigtown Book Festival
• Kirkcudbright Festival, BigDog book festival for children
• Galloway National Park and the Gretna Star of Caledonia Trust, all of which we hope will help to boost tourism across Dumfries and Galloway.
• Dalbeattie outdoor centre.
• The New Abbey Play Park will hopefully benefit the lives of many local children in the village.

Supporting the Solway Coastal Path was a long-term dream of Mark Jardine (founding member of The Peoples Project).  He wants to not only unite the region, but bring people to the region at Gretna and get them to ‘turn left’.
